    Looking for good homes

It breaks my heart, but I'm going to be moving for work in a couple of months, so in the meantime I'm starting to look for good homes for my: 32" zebra eel 5" black trigger 3" humu humu 3" neon/javanese damsel 5" black volitan lion 3" + strawberry hermit crab Not looking to give away, but...

    my new zebra eel

Mine's a little larger,(30"+) but when I first got him, he would only eat frozen krill. I have since moved him onto vitamin enriched raw shrimp.

    meanest tankmate

just looked it up, starfish do have a photosensitive receptor on the end of each arm, an "eye" of sorts, allowing them to tell the difference between light and dark.

    meanest tankmate

I seem to remember a post not too long ago where members were chiming in with the meanest of the mean from their tanks. I couldn't find that post to revisit it, but had a new one to add. My strawberry hermit crab. Meanest b@$%@#d in my tank. Not too long ago he dispatched a 3" volitan lion...

    strawberry hermit crab

does anybody have any experience with molting strawberry hermit crabs? do they molt in pieces, or in one large piece like shrimp? i have found a leg and a claw in my tank within the past couple of days. i haven't been able to get a perfect look at him yet, but it doesn't look like he's...

    Fowlr

Don't think the yellow tang would be a problem with the other fish, but don't know about 3. i've seen them in groups before, but have no experience. the coriss will need a fairly deep sandbed, that's what's kept me from getting one.

    Passer Angel in Western PA

I've got a Passer Angel that's about 5-6 inches long with pretty much adult coloration that has turned into a bit of a bully in my 150 gallon tank. Would like to find him an appropriate home with some other fish that won't be quite as sensative to his nature. Would be willing to part with him...

    Fowlr

are you looking to go with an aggressive tank? do you want many small fishes, or just a few larger species? I have a 150 with similar dimensions, and if I had to stock it all over again, this is what I'd go with- - black durgeon or blue throat trigger (relatively calm triggers, may not eat a...

    Humu Humu ?????

I've got snails as part of what I thought would be a "disposable" clean up crew in my aggressive FOWLR. My humu's about 4 inches, and he has yet to pick off any of the snails or hermit crabs. I think it could probably go either way depending on the disposition of your fish. There have been...

    preparing shrimp

decided to try and get away from prepackaged food, and wanted to ease into it before I went all out and started making my own. I bought some raw shrimp from my local grocer, but haven't a clue how to prepare it for my zebra eel. do i just cut it up into appropriate sized pieces, shell and all...

    Humu Humu love stories

I'm surprised they were feeding the humu live food at the fish store, i've never known a trigger to be picky about food. that's semms to be just asking for trouble. I've got about a dozen snails and a dozen small hermits in my tank with mine. I got them for free and was hoping that they might...

    clean up crew

I've got a rather large strawberry hermit in the tank with my huma, haven't had any problems with my fish picking at him, yet. I thnk the idea behind any kind of clean up crew with triggers is that you have to come to terms with the fact that almost any cleaner could be on the menu. I've also...

    World's Deadliest

AW2x3 - just my 2 cents, but if you're looking to get a sleeve with a wildlife theme (don't know if that's the plan or not) you should really check out Deano Cook's work @ Psycho Tattoo in Atlanta, GA. Some of the sickest fish and water scenes out there, plus probably not quite as hard to get...

    Humu Humu love stories

with all of the horror stories, what puzzles me is why nearly all of the books out there list the huma as among the most docile of the triggers???? granted that's a relative statement, and many books are forced to make broad generalizations about species, yet I've seen it numerous times.

    Humu Humu love stories

After all of the horror stories about Picasso's, does anyone have any feel good stories. I have a Humu that's been with some of the same fish for over 2 years. Never seen one sign of aggression. Even with the newer additions to the tank he's never nipped or chased or intimidated into a...
