So one of my finds need to get rid of his trigger and i took it for him. He is about 2 in. So the Question is do you think that he would be ok in my reef tank for a couple months. or do i need to get him a seperate tank right now. I am saving money to build a 250 aggresive tank in the first part of April. and would like to go that route if possible. He is in QT right now. The other fish in the reef are.
1 morron clown
1 coral beauty
1 pink spotted goby
1 fox face
All of my snails are pretty big and i have a coral banded shimp that i know will be at risk. It never comes out during the day and have only seen it a few times since i got it. So if it becomes fish food that will not hurt my feelings. What do you think

Your snails could be in danger even if they are fairly large. I had a 2.5 inch humu humu that I had seen picking up snails that were half his size and taking chunks out of their shells trying to get at them.

I've got snails as part of what I thought would be a "disposable" clean up crew in my aggressive FOWLR. My humu's about 4 inches, and he has yet to pick off any of the snails or hermit crabs. I think it could probably go either way depending on the disposition of your fish. There have been posts on this site that talk about snails not even making it to the bottom of the tank with a humu before they get eaten. I've been pretty fortunate up to this point.

Well the clown and the humu have become friends, they crusie the tank together. They seem to even be playing together. I am starting to feel sorry for the rest of my fish as they are ganging up on them.
