    Are Clowns considered Damsels

Thanks, I win. I believe part of my problem has been that the Clowns were put in with fish that were bigger and probably more aggressive. Once my 10 gallon reef is settled I will put a couple into that tank.

    Are Clowns considered Damsels

We are having a "discussion" here at work tonight - someone is saying that he was told by the LFS that Clowns are really damsels. Thus the discussion has progressed. What is your opinion. I have not had luck keeping these guys in any of my tanks and not quite sure why.

Did she do a water change during the time you were away? I have been through issues with my tanks and thought about dumping them but I dig around and get help with what to try next and the tank clears up and looks good again. Did you wife overfeed? (not intentionaly of course) Did your fish...

    My Snails Keep Dying

From what I understand the Coppersafe is not safe for invertibrates which I would think would cover your snails. However, I have tanks without coppersafe and my snails die off also. Would love to hear other opinions on this. Also, what kind of fish are in the tank? My wrasse can nail a snail...

    Seahorses

I have started a small reef tank to learn on. All has been going well. Ok, crashed once but I learned from that experience. Things are getting busy in that tank. My goal is to have a tank for seahorses. I do have several 5 gallon tanks. Is there any advice on how to start one?

I have hundreds of poda in a 10 gallon tank. My husband thinks they are taking over. Some are getting quite big. They are FAST !!!! We do have live rock and they are too fast for the shrimp to catch. The Chromis, snails, etc could care less about them. We have a microalgae plant in the...

    Tiny white bugs in tank

I am not sure how to explain this. I am seeing almost microscopic white worms (???) is my tank - they are under the gravel/sand and move very quickly. I have even seen them in the second small filter inside the tank. Does anyone have any kind of idea what they might be and if I should leave...

    Feather duster lost his crown

Strange, my feather duster was puffing out brown stuff. Was told he was spawning. Shortly after he blew his top. I was told that I should have left that piece in the tank that it may have produced a second duster. We did lose the original case but the worm was there. Now we have 2 heads...

    Lawnmower blenny?

I have had a LMB for a long time without lr and he did not eat anything off the glass. He loves krill, shrimp, almost anything we put in the tank. We love watching his antics. I also have a scooter blenny that I am finally able to keep alive -was finally told that he needs lots of live rock...

Leather Coral, Anemone and Tube Worm

My tube anemone is a dark purple and the other one is a light pink. I handled them when originally placing in tank and was not stung. Seems that once I moved the leather coral away from the pink tube he opened up again and is quite happy once more. Whew! Got through this crisis. Thanks for...

Leather Coral, Anemone and Tube Worm

Yes, the purple tube has long tenacials. He stay in back of tank and peeks around the corner. I have a pink one also. Tank was looking better last tank. I check on this morning before coming into work. Everyone is back out and looking great. My orange rod has flowered again. The tube worms...

Leather Coral, Anemone and Tube Worm

Now that you mention it, I moved the urchin because he wanted to eat everything in the tank. Put him in one tank and he kept stacking rocks on his head to hide so we moved once more. Now he is a happy camper. So, I guess moving will be out of the question. Guess I am going tank shopping !

Leather Coral, Anemone and Tube Worm

THANK YOU [hr] now maybe he will listen to me. YIPPEE! I want to purchase a compact light but he said it was too expensive. Now I can justify the entire upgrade. P.S. We are running 2 45 gallon tanks as well. Lots of live rock in each. In one tank there is a serpent star, snails...

Leather Coral, Anemone and Tube Worm

I started small to learn, my husband feels the tank is too small for a skimmer. I keep saying it needs one. How do I check calcium level? It is only a 10 gallon tank. There is a purple tube worm, a feather duster who has now multiplied. A crown conch with a baby. 1 shrimp (we are now seeing...

Leather Coral, Anemone and Tube Worm

I am at work (working hard of course) but will check when I get home. I assume that is part of the problem. It hurts to see my tube worm just laying on the bottom. We tried to feed him krill but he would not hold to it as he usually does.

Leather Coral, Anemone and Tube Worm

I have started a reef tank about 6 months or so ago. 2 weeks ago I added a leather coral (kind of green with nubby fingers). The leather collaspsed (learned that they do this kind of stuff when moved). My water clouded, guess this stinker let me know he was unhappy. However, my anemone died...
