Are Clowns considered Damsels

We are having a "discussion" here at work tonight - someone is saying that he was told by the LFS that Clowns are really damsels. Thus the discussion has progressed. What is your opinion.
I have not had luck keeping these guys in any of my tanks and not quite sure why.

yes part of the damsel family,
if you are not having luck with clowns then there are some serious water issues going on....clowns are one of the most hardiest and easiest sw fishes to own.......

Thanks, I win. I believe part of my problem has been that the Clowns were put in with fish that were bigger and probably more aggressive. Once my 10 gallon reef is settled I will put a couple into that tank.

In a 10 gallon make sure you go with a small breed of Clown. I'd say a pair in a 10 gallon would probably be max for fish.
