Is this everything I need for my filtration

Skimmer is probably a little under rated for a 90 gal IMO. Everything else seems to be a good start. As equipment goes yu will end replacing some along the way and find what you like but its a decent start.

I agree with retrofitting I am sure some of the kits for the bio can be fitted with a little thought. With HOB skimmers the only issue I have ever seen is sometimes they can go nuts and over flow the cup. This can be a huge issue with a hob skimmer. The one I had it was easily fixed by drilling...

new to hobby advise always wanted

Well like I said the best skimmer I found for that tank was the reef octo bh1000 but it was a little overkill. If you wanted to do a skimmer that would fit in the rear chamber you would have to do some modding to the rear chambers as the baffle between chamber 1 and 2 does not allow for the...

Would help to know the type of skimmer you got but I would remove the foam and place the skimmer there. Also on a side note looking at the rear chambers are you sure thats a bio cube? Bio cubes have 3 chambers that looks more like a aquapod 28. I have the aquapod and probably the best skimmer I...

    reef foundation pro kit

I use these test kits and yes you calculate how much you have used. They work pretty well. Also the air bubble will not effect the test results as the tip is not part of the 1ml the syringe holds only the body of the syringe. But if it makes you feel better then tap the air out and make sure...

    sump overflow??

Never thought of that beaslbob but it actually seems like a good idea as aqualifters are known to fail from time to time. Maxijets have always been good to me. I have a drilled tank so it dont really matter but its still a good idea

    sump overflow??

Good advise also what kind of overflow do you have? Is it drilled or is it a u-tube siphon overflow. Assuming most 55 gallons are tempered glass and should not be drilled I will assume its a u-tube style overflow. If it is make sure you have enough flow trhough the u-tube to push air through...

    sump overflow??

Best way to answer that is to fill the tank till it flow though the over flow and fills the sump aswell. That is the maximum amount of water it can hold and cant drain more than that. Now turn it on. Water in the sump will drop as it fill the plumbing. Once it all levels out (about 60 seconds )...

    Back to basics- 29g adventure

I had the mar aqua 165 led over my nano and got that brown crap. Started vodka dosing and it went away in a couple weeks. I now have the mars aqua over my 92 reef after reinstalling the optics I removed for the nano.

    Robs Nano Reef

Well the 92 corner tank is setup in my living room. I was up till 3 in the morning setting it up as I didnt plan on it coming with fish. Wound up adopting a mated pair of black andd white clowns (cant remember there name) and a couple damsils. I painted the back and the stand black. The skimmer...

    Robs Nano Reef

All I have is a camaro surely not going to fit all that in there. Uhual might be my best option at this point. I live in the sticks to but I must say I have never seen so many reefers than Jacksonville FL. He was wanting alot more for the tank but he has not sold and he is moving away at the end...

No damn snipers. Its all good though they are always having auctions lol. On a side not I broke out my old 75 sanded the stand and repainted it then went to clean the tank out and noticed the plastic bracing has cracks. I am sure I could fix it but not sure if its worth the risk. The silicone...

    Sump/Return Pump Question

I have to agree with the others as long as the tank is consistant at those temps I would not worry about it. Just keep it in mind down the road when you need another pump but for now I would not spend the money in another pump.
