On my 90g I have a Reef Octopus Classic 150INT....I thin I paid about $260 for it. It does a good job skimming. Right now I dont have a big bioload, but I imagine if you had a skimmer your tank and fish would be happy.

I think they are talking about big skinmers and filtration eqpt. If you feed a lot that will keep your bioload elevated and you would need a higher end skimmer and frequent water changes to export the nitrates.

Need to make sure your water temp is good along with SG/salinity. You have listed all of the other numbers, but SG is important too. What brand of salt do you use? It could be that your salt mix brand has inconsistancies in it or it could have been a bad batch. Just another angle to look at.
