Us Chicago people should get some kind of reef club or something going, makes it cheaper on the wallet trading frags and gives each other ideas on how we can all improve our tanks! Reef party!

I've had several royal grammas and they all did that, maybe they're just stretching, but they do do that to defend there territory as well. I haven't ever had any of mine nip at other fish though, which is why I like the royal gramma over the other assessors you can get.

Ok if you had a 120G being setup as a reef which lighting setup would you use. 2 175W Ushio 10Ks and 2 140W VHO Actinics OR 2 400W 20K Radiums? It is going to be a mixed reef.

Can angelfish (large + pygmy)and anemones be combined in the same tank? Or will angels nip at them like they do corals?

The canopy isn't raised high enough to support metal halides. I would think a third of the light being actinic would be plenty of blue light.

Mine likes a strong current in front of my rotating power head. He was pretty beat up and torn when I got it but it has been regenerating nicely where he is.

Has anyone used or seen the True Actinic power compact bulbs? I'm not talking about the 7100K painted lens ones but the true actinics that are out now. I'd like to know how they compare to the VHO true actinics.

He was acclimated for atleast 2 hours. This is strange it looks like these beige colored bands are coming out of his stomach, the seem to have tubes, but not the clear ones like you see underneath the starfish. Could this be anything else but him falling apart and dying?

It looks like my star lost the lining in his legs, the things with his tubes in it, but his legs still appear to have the tubes, so I don't know what it is. He is still moving around, his body looks flatter then normal though. Is this the 1st stages of him dying?

Did anyone else think his tank looked a little...crammed? I love corals but sheesh that was a lot!

Will an open brain coral eventually develop new "lobes"? Mine just keeps getting bigger n bigger but still has his original 3 lobes.
