Where to snorkel in Mexico, Bahama, or Hawaii

the reef in Cozumel is about as good of a shallow reef as you can come by in my opinion. Most of the diving there is only 30-60 feet anyway, and you can easily see the reef in the shallow areas from the surface. I personally have never done a specific snorkeling trip there, but I have dove it...

    how to calculate stand strength?

I have built several stands, and my advice is look at the stands they sell in the stores, and feel how light the pressed board they use is... If those stands will support the weight so will one made of 2x4's... Of course I also tend to follow the over support theory... My stands are stronger...

    Power Compact Ballast Question

I thought the same thing... When I called Hamilton about the ballast, I asked them how often this happens, and her response was "It happens more than you would probably expect", and I responded by telling her that once while it was only 10 months old was already more than I wanted to expect...

    Ammonia PROBLEMS in HYPO

I am just finishing a simular situation, unfortunately I had to do an "emergency" hospital and did not have one up at the time. I only was able to leave the sponges in my display for a couple of days before I set up the tank. I had ammonia all over the place. I felt the same way about water...

    Re-acclimating Fish after Hypo

My fish are about to come out of hypo. They all seem to have done rather well, my flame angel was listing pretty heavily the first few days, but then he got the new salinity figured out. My question is how careful do I need to be when adding them back to the display tank? The bioload used to...

    Help me save my fish....

He didn't make it. He was on his side in one of the PVC "caves" this morning. I removed him and you could see the sting from the anenome covered about 30% of one side and the entire other side... Poor little thing, he never had a chance... The other fish seem to be taking the move to the...

    Help me save my fish....

I knew the lettuce didn't have much nutrition, it was more of a treat, my foxface LOVES it. I alternate it with a seafood salad sheet from the LFS. I had already fed them some, I put in some seaweed sheets soaked in vitamins, and the Powder Blue seems to be doing much better (no more...

    Help me save my fish....

I had to move all my fish to a QT today due to my first Ich uprising. The move went smoothly as can be expected until my Powder Blue Tang tried to dart away from me in the display tank and swam into my Carpet anenome. I quickly removed him and placed him in the QT, but isn't looking good...
