    Chaeto placement

I have my cheto in a small "hang on back" refugium, in my 90 gal. Works beautifully the area is now filled with copepods. I leave an 18w bulb on 24/7. Even there I check for overgrowth and clogging of the return tube to the tank...but the location is extremely accessible.

    Worms-a-plenty!

Thanks all, I have never seen this species of Feather Duster, I have had beautiful Hawaiians in the past (4-6 inches), nothing this small. what are these little guys called? By the way, I only feed the tank once daily mix of flake, pellet, occasional brine...its devoured in less than 3...

    IDENTIFY! What is this thing?

I apologize for the fuzzy photo below. This bulbous thing about the size of a large marble is located just under my mushrooms, it is growing! It is white and looks like it has "tentacles" with a fuzzy texture to it. It looks like tapioca pudding in a ball...

    Leopard Blenny feeding ideas?

Ideas on feeding a Leopard blenny? Currently: Mysis, Brine, Formula 1, Formula 2, sinking pellets. I haven't tried to "garlic" the food, but I can do so. He seems to nibble on the live rock...cant be too nutritious. very active, very healthy fish...I dont want that to change. As far as "stony...

The return of the GURGLE, belch Durso!

there is no evidence of salt creep either on the durso, or anywhere else on the tank (this set up is only 2 1/2 weeks old). Any word on drilling the opening wider? And how wide to go?

The return of the GURGLE, belch Durso!

A few days ago, I posted about my Durso pipe in my RR 90G bow. The tank has been set up about 2 1/2 weeks. I am running a white flex hose directly to sump with a Mag 7 return to the tank. every few minutes there is an "explosive -propulsion" and thrust of water down the durso thru the flex hose...

    Melafix?

So I used Melafix about 10 days ago during a tank switch over, and to assist with a few "bumps and bruises" on my Sailfin T. (stuff worked well!) The question is: how do I get it OUT of the tank. There are thousands of micro-fine particles floating around. Asked the LFS (who used Melafix instead...

    Durso question: gurgle, belch?

YES! Gurgling has subsided with the Durso lowered! the peculiar thing is for the first week the tank was running there was no gurgling and then "poof" one minute it began. I made no adjustments or mucking with any equip. it just decided to grow a personality and gurgle...funny, how we add life...

    Durso question: gurgle, belch?

YES! excellent question you asked...: looking into the overflow area, the water level drops about 3/4 of an inch...then it gurgles and water level rises. This process repeats. I cant raise the Durso any higher, it is at its highest point possible, I can lower it with ease, so I know it isnt...

    Durso question: gurgle, belch?

there is a hole on top, I have tried adjusting the entire pipe up/down. Still gurgling in strange intervals! Seems as if the water level is fine, no obstruction of vent hole... puzzled! Pics here:

    Durso question: gurgle, belch?

My RR tank 90g Bow has a Durso style sump return -flex hose - (not kinked in any way or strangely twisted, it comes straight down and runs a soft 20 degrees to the right into the right side of my sump), running a Mag 7 back to the tank. Problem: every few minutes there is a flush through the...

CoralJ: thanks a lot for the pic! awesome set up. This is the 8x54 retro you are talking about? I dont have a hood to attach it to...which is why I am looking at the fixtures with stand legs and why I am crazy over the exact length. Issue I have is the hood is a "flex-plastic" type with two...
