I can't remember his name now but I know that he owns a ghost ribbon eel in his reef and I believe that he has had good success with it. Other than that I think that it's not the reef that is the problem but just the ribbon eels in general are not very good in captivity.

While I think hippos are a little more Susceptible for Ich, I believe that the main reason they're always seen with ick is just because they happen to be in EVERY LFS and LFS's fish, always seem to be prone to carrying ich.

All but two of my LFS don't QT. I don't think they could afford not to, all of their SW tanks are plumbed together. I guess I am blessed to have some not so typical LFSs
