    double sump

I would also vote for drilling the two tanks rather than relying on a siphon to keep water levels in tact because of the risk of a power outage. I recently drilled my 20g fuge and it was surprisingly easier than I had thought. Just get some plumbers putty and make a border around where you...

    Return nozzle

I dont know if this would work, perhaps others can comment on it but it was a thought that came to me. What if you attached a larger section on the outside of the tank, between the sump and return, with a ball inside that is just larger than the hosing before and after it. This way the pump...

    Return nozzle

You could connect that to a PVC elbow and then a straight piece that goes up to your water level to act as an overflow instead of plugging it. That way, water that is being pumped from your sump will overflow into that drain, go into the sump and then repeat.

    Would it be possible...

I understand the criticism on the stock list, the way my system is setup, the fuge is actually a second tank that is on the other side of the wall that will become a holding area if any of the fish begin to get aggressive, at which point they will probably go back to my LFS. At this point the...

    Would it be possible...

I have had all of the fish together for around 5 month, in the current tank, approximately two months.

I am also considering a zebra eel in place of the snowflake as I have read that they are more docile.

    Would it be possible...

to put a Snowflake Eel in a 75 Gallon tank that currently has a 3-4" Lion, a 3" Huma Huma, 2x 2.5" clowns and a 5" watchman goby. I also have a few soft corals and a Green bubble tip anemone. The 75 is hooked up to a 15 gallon sump, and a 20 gallon fuge, with a total of about 100-120 lbs of LR...

    Auto topoff's

I had looked into melev's setup, but by the time i priced everything out it was closer to half or a little more of what the site was selling them for. I was also a little hesitant about the way he shows connecting the float switch to the extension cable...thats why I was looking to purchase one...

    Auto topoff's

Has anyone here ordered a system from autotopoff.com ? I have been looking at the in sump mounted unit, and have been curious as to how well they work, and how exactly the system works. Do they just hook up to a pump that you put in your RO water supply? Do I need a specific type of pump to...

    Another sump question

Found the bulkhead today and got everything set up...first time I powered everything on the Fuge overflowed a good 5 gallons on my carpet, but it was just a matter of adjusting the amount of that was going into the fuge, and now everything is working great. Pics to come soon.

    Another sump question

Yea, it was a hole bit. And where did you buy the bulkhead setup from? Were you able to find it at a hardware store, or did you have to buy it as an overflow kit? Thanks

    Another sump question

yea, Im going to go through the side I think. Although Im not set on this, if you would suggest going through the bottom instead. And as far as the tank cracking goes, Im not too concerned there either, as I am testing this setup with a 10 gallon tank, so if It cracks im only out 8.50.

    Another sump question

Thats what I have been thinking as far as narrowing down the problem and correcting it. I went out in search of a glass hole drill bit today, but came up empty, hopefully I can find one from a local supplier today otherwise Im going to have to order one online. Was hoping to get most of the...

    Another sump question

also, Im not having any issues, nor an I concerned about the overflow from my DT, as this has been in place and works fine through power failures. However what I was worried about was the possible issues involved if a pump failed or the power went out and I had more water moving back to my sump...
