Nas he said that since the bulbs are thin that they take a lot more to cover the same area and the setup was kinda costly and a bit harder to find a good selection of bulbs.

My friend used T-5's for a while and he said they weren't really practical. The ballast is what matters I agree, and imo/ime go with vho.

Go with URI,coralife aren't that great of bulbs and the URI even have internal 180 degree reflectors built in. As for bulb combinations 50/50 and superactinic combos would be best, the 10000k are pinkish while the 50/50 a crisp white.

Regular feeding should help it improve and gain its zooxanthellae. Nice little tank, albeit the lta looks like its a little cramped and will get more probably as it grows.
