hey guys, i recently got a few rics and they're doing fine. but i put two of them close together in the tank and it seems like they've grown a little and now one is starting to grow on top of the other. should i separate them? or let it just grow and cover the other?

i set up my 40g tank over a month by now ( a month since it finished cycling) and today 2 of my damsels died = ( no explanations, woke up, turned on light and bam, one was lying flat and colorless and the other is in the brink of death.
