Tell me what you think of my plan!! Rough sketch included!!

Here is my plan for my RO unit, topoff's and PWC's. All comments appreciated. All valves are solenoid controlled and entire system will be controlled by PLC. Only manual valves are for flow adjustment. Thanks in advance!! Filling RO Tanks Water will come from RO unit into RO only tank. When...

    Automatic PWC's

I am using a mitsubishi FX for right now. I may upgrade if the need be later on but for this I think this will suffice. I love allen bradley and would like to have an allen bradley setup but I don't want to spend the extra $$ and I came across this one cheap!! And I am on track with you now...

    Automatic PWC's

That's right, I wouldn't be removing anything from the water coming into the sump. I may have to look into something different. the only thing about not shutting off the overflow line is I don't have another pump near as strong as my return pump and I don't think i could use one to put water...

    Automatic PWC's

I want to have a y on the overflow to sump line. 1 to the sump, 1 to waste. The valves will be operated by the PLC. When it's water change time I will have the waste valve open and the sump valve close, the return pump will run until it trips a low level float and that will kill the pump. Then...

Storage for RO / DI water?!?

Yeah i still haven't completely ruled it out yet. The only thing i'm worried about now is how to connect the two tanks with no leaks since they are completely round. I don't want to have to pump water between the two, I want them to be cannected where when the first one fills it overflows into...

    Automatic PWC's

On my city water into the RO I am usng a brass soleniod controlled valve. On the saltwater I have a couple of options in mind. I have the idea of pnuematically operated PVC schedule 80 ball valves or I would just manually have to open the valves but have proximity switches set up to verify...

    Automatic PWC's

I am in the processing of designing and building a set up for automatic PWC's. I want to get this to where the only things I have to do are have the saltwater mixed and flip a switch and push a button. This will all be controlled by a PLC setup in the basement. My only problem is how to get the...

    Berlin Skimmer

That was not the answer I was hoping for. I have looked these skimmers up and they are selling for around 200 bucks. There's nothing I can do to make it better?? The reason this pump wasn't working was because the tank sat for about 3 years. Dried saltwater and 3 years isn't a good combo!!

Re-Plumbing my tank, what do you think?

this ok for a 55 gal?

I had an odyssea and wouldn't suggest them to anyone!! Mine only lasted about 3 months and the ballast went out. I couldn't find a replacement anywhere. I went to catfish lighting and got me a new light and am very happy with it for the money!! This is on my 40g FOWLR

    Berlin Skimmer

I bought a used 125 salt about a year or so ago. I didn't know much about saltwater at the time and set everything up like I thought it should be. Needless to say it wasn't right. Now I have moved so I had to take it down but my question is can someone give me some advice on my skimmer. I...

Storage for RO / DI water?!?

Thanks, this is very similar to how i was thinking. I don't really wanna spend that kinda $$ on the tanks though. I found some 37 gallon containers that I think I am gonna use and try to hook up the same set up using these. Not dead set on it yet, but definitely an affordable option. They...

Storage for RO / DI water?!?

I think the brutes are looking like the way to go. I would really like to tie them together so I don't have to transfer water from one to the other to mix up salt. I would like to have one for salt water and one for RO water for top offs. This is seeming to be the way it's gonna go.

Storage for RO / DI water?!?

I was wondering about using a used trash can. My grandparents have a large dumpster that they don't use that they said I could have but i'm scared something could have been put in there that could leach out and do more harm than regular tap water would've.

Storage for RO / DI water?!?

I am setting up my RO/DI unit for my 125 salt and 40 salt and was wondering what everyone else was using for storage tanks for the RO water. I had a 30 gallon trash can, but this really isn't as large as I would like. I got a 45 gallon and it's not as sturdy as I like. I am trying to get...
