250w would allow you to keep whatever you wanted. It's not an Aquatrader or Odysea unit is it? IMO you get what you pay for with them.

I love my odyssea 2x250 on my 55 plus if you upgrade tanks you can go 90 or 120 and still use the same light the bulbs in my odyssea were junk real yellow but now I got phoenix pulbs and icecap ballasts replaced them wouldnt have had to replace the ballasts I just figured there would be a big differance but there wasnt

I had an odyssea and wouldn't suggest them to anyone!! Mine only lasted about 3 months and the ballast went out. I couldn't find a replacement anywhere. I went to catfish lighting and got me a new light and am very happy with it for the money!! This is on my 40g FOWLR
