I understand the nitrogen cycle lol...I just have a few questions related to it that I do not know and I don't necessarily have to know. So here it goes. First off, what are the different types of bacteria even called? Do we even know that? I've read articles where types of bacteria were not...

    Long Tentacle Plate Coral?

I was wondering if 4X24 watt T5HO would be adequate for a long tentacle plate coral and also if it's anemone-like appearance will make it a possible host for False Perculas. If not, I still want it...but that's just an afterthought I had. Also, they good for a 30 gallon tank, right?

    Awesome Teachers Thread!

Anyone have now or have had any cool teachers? I have 2 I can think of. One teacher I have for Animal Science. She'll give you partial credit for funny answers on a test..so if you forget an answer, you can make something funny up and get half credit (if she thinks it's funny). For example...

    Sharks have immunity to cancer?

We're learning about cancer in biology, well everyone else is...I'm ahead of the game Anyway, my teacher said that sharks are the only animal immune to cancer and I have to say that that sounds like complete bogus to me. I thought any and every animal could get cancer. What's up? Discuss.

I don't know if you guys realize this, but if you scroll over the tabs to the right, there are a few problems. For example the 15 day gaurantee tab shows 6 day gaurantee and the repeat buyers says contact. It isn't an urgent issue obviously, but I thought you might want to know about it if you...

    Dirty sand problem.

My sand is pretty dirty. I tested me levels and I have no trates or phosphates. It appears to be ditritus buildup of some sort, but it is sort of clumpy. On top of the clumps is a bit of dinoflagellets (sp) I have quite a bit of flow I think. For a 29 gallon tank it has a koralia 2, a...

    Ro/di

In need of some serious advice. I have been trying to convince my father to go 50/50 with me on an ro/di filter, since he will be using it more often than I. I made charts and calculate the exact moment that it would pay off and how much money would save yearly, etc. No dice. So now I am...
