defently get a skimmer but you could do without it. i had a 36 gallon with nothing but a bio wheel & 2 koralia powerheads. the tank was lightly stocked, lots of rock, a large clean up crew & religous water changes. i never had any problems, my levels were always where they should be

ive used joes joe's juice it worked great but they still kept coming back i got 3 peppermint shrimp havent seen any in 5 mts & my shrimp are way cool fun to feed them by hand

i personally think it sucks sorta like getting fake house plants or a fake lawn if you want coral suck it save money & buy the real thing theres way more satisfaction in keeping something alive & watching it grow sorry if that was mean just my thoughts

yep it depends on your clean up crew i had a clown die in a 36 gallon & i never saw my water paramerters off think my hermits had a feast test your water frequently if levels rise start pulling rock out & find it.

i had a mandarin for a while i bought him pods all the time. it got expensive. ya you can just dump them into your tank i think you're suppost to let them get room temp, then you'll be able to see them moving in the bottle.
