    Is This Unusual For Clowns

Well, I've been observing my clowns behavior more closely and I'm noticing that they are simply trying out different corals to determine which ones they prefer. I've seen them both now on all three or four corals they seem to to like. Both seperately and together. Makes me think of Goldielocks...

    Is This Unusual For Clowns

The one I am assuming is a female is slightly larger then the other one. Their staying close together is off and on. Sometimes one of them does it's little dance when they meet up. They're almost two inches now but I just notice that the larger one is now going up to the coral and dives in with...

    Is This Unusual For Clowns

Is it unusual for clowns to host different things? I've got a very young pair of clown, this juveniles and the male is hosting a coral and the female is hosting a featherduster. Is that a problem? Does it mean they're not a true pair yet?

    Cross Breeding Damsel Fish

That cross would happen or that it's a good idea?

    Cross Breeding Damsel Fish

I first want to state that this was not intentional in anyway but I think my chromis and my clownfish have bonded. I've got a single chromis that was being bullied in the bigger tank and an extra clownfish from my threesome in a ten gallon. They are the only fish in there. Well, lately I've...

    Breeding Damsels

bumping this topic back up. Maybe no one had an answer or maybe the question was misunderstood. I have NO INTENTION of breeding damsel(except maybe my clowns). The question again is do ALL damsel start out at youth like clowns until one becomes permanently male and one permanently female? Would...

    White Spots On My Glass?

I have them also on the back glass of my tank where it's the darkest. I believe they're called "spirorbis" and they are harmless. They're tiny calcareous worms, filter feeders and are very common in tanks that are doing well. Be glad you have them.

    Breeding Damsels

I'm curious to know from the more experience saltwater enthusiasts here if the principle of selection and breeding of ALL DAMSELS is the same as that of clownfish? After all, ain't clowns damsels too. Would other damsels types go thru the same little courtship dance that clowns do? I know some...

    Buy ONLINE or at LFS

I saw this thread and just had to come in. I generally don't order online. I have a few times for meds and water conditioners but never for fish and corals. I did order from here...swf...but had to cancel due to a family death and didn't feel up to notifying them afterwards to go ahead and send...

    Slug-Like Creature

If it was releasing eggs that may explain why the fish were going nuts eating them. I could see it really up close and it was coming out of it's mouth(front) area. A little puff everytime the fish went by. So I wasn't sure what it was doing.

    Slug-Like Creature

Not my picture, googled it but it looks exactly like it. Do you know why it was belching puffs of stuff from it mouth. Defense mechanism against being eaten by the fish?

    Slug-Like Creature

Okay found a picture and it's called Stomatellas. If what I read is correct it's harmless and can be put back into the tank. However, I will await an answer from someone.

    Slug-Like Creature

Just seen it. Just took it out. A slug like creature with two antenne that was sending up puffs of smoke. Whatever the stuff was the fish were eating it. Should I keep it or kill it?

    Worm-like Creature

Good question VSecret. I've lost three of my snail too and I don't understand it either. Do you have enough algae? The right kind of algae for them? Frankly, I'm not sure what kind of algae is best for them.

    Worm-like Creature

Sorry, it took me so long to respond. I had forgotten I had posted this topic. It's a b!tch getting old but yeah, that's what it looked like. I've been seeing more and more tiny critters in my tank. Lots of copepods which I understand are fishies food.

    Clown Getting Darker On Top

I know I saw a topic thread on this once before but I can't seem to find it. The question is, is that one of my clowns back is turning dark and I was wondering if that had to do with the number of hours the lights on the tanks are on. Is this the clowns equalivent of a sunburn? Is this normal...

    Aggressive Coral Banded Shrimp

Well, that's good to know. It just that when a new fish disappears within two days. You begin to wonder if it's possible. Probably died from new fish stress and the CUC took care of the body. Yay! For the CUC!

    Aggressive Coral Banded Shrimp

I don't know the temperament of a coral banded and whether this is normal or not but I've observed him making charges at fish that come to close. Is he trying to catch and eat one or drive it away? Do they catch and eat small fish? Should I be worried about my firefish, the clowns or my...

    Reality Check----Please!!

Thanks everyone for not bashing me. I appreciate it. But here's the deal. It doesn't matter what size tank I'd get I'd always want more fish then what can be kept in it. I have a hard time saying "no" to myself. It's a little disorder called "fish-itish" or the more serious clinical term I...
