Who has experience with the Green Spotted Puffer in a marine setup

I can only speak for mine. In my aquarium, there is no problem whatsoever with teh GSP. He does not harm any other fish, I do have a 72 gallon aquarium also, so he has the space to swim

The 10 gallon clownfish only experiment.

Funny how he claims he is experienced, but does not understand the cycling of a fish tank. Stick with goldfish pal.

Where to adjust Prizm Skimmer Foam Setting

Ok, so I bought a used Prizm Skimmer Pro awhile back, but did not ever want to set it up due to horrible reviews. One main negative comment I saw was the problem with it leaking. Thats the reason I never set it up because I live in an apartment and did not want to chance it. But recently I...

    Picasso (Huma Huma) Triggers

i have a humu rectangle, he has the say in the tank. he don't mess with other fish, but feeding time is a whole different story, he turns into this vicious beast who does not like to share food. he gets first dibs on everything, but a nice fish overall. funny story how i got him.... i...

Who has experience with the Green Spotted Puffer in a marine setup

FYI if you all can't decide on a puffer you'd like. Do not overlook the Green Spotted Puffer, you can pick these up for little to nothing at Walmart, and "save" them from their inhumane habitats. I've had mine since last summer in a full marine aquarium, and he is thriving. I'm finally...

    Pros n cons?

Fish Only technically means that, Fish Only. But it wouldn't hurt to have some live rock or live sand. Personally, I don't use either, as long as you don't have a high bioload, and it sounds like you won't, with just a pair of clowns, it won't be absolutely necessary. Having a CUC doesn't...

    Pros n cons?

Yea bud, i'd just stick with a Fish Only set up, no shame in that. Maybe someday I can get some pictures up of my tank someday. I actually have an artificial reef that is very pleasing to the eye, though will never be able to compete with live coral, but looks good none the less. All I have...

Has anyone had experience keeping a Purple Square Anthias by itself?

Was thinking of taking one of these home for my aquarium, the males have very bright colors. But I read that they are schooling fish. I would like to know if anybody has had any success keeping these fish by themselves before? I've taken care of a bue green chromis by itself for quite...

    Problem with Heniocus Butterfly

I wish mine left the other fish alone. Everywhere I look, they say its a peaceful fish. Mine is well fed as well. I know they have cleaning tendencies. He is always next to my Yellow Tang, at first I thought the Tang was annoyed, but over time, its the Yellow Tang following him wanting to be...

    Problem with Heniocus Butterfly

Hello, I bought one of these about a month or so ago, along with a yellow tang. It started out rather peaceful, but it has actually turned into a little monster. He pecks at everyone, I was told its cleaning behavior, but its excessive. My Yellow Tang can't stand him, and just a few days ago...

random question for you joe, i just googled naples florida and noticed its by the ocean, i live very far from the ocean, so i wouldn't know the answer to my question do you, or know anybody who just goes straight to the ocean to collect their water? also, have you ever caught any living thing...

    Starting Hyposalinity tomorrow

i'm trying to take advantage of this by siphoning out the substrate as well. i never did add live sand or live rock to my set up, i have two big hang on back filters(aquaclear 100). so i know everyone will say i need live rock, but hopefully in this case it will help me to not have so much...

    Starting Hyposalinity tomorrow

i went to the store and got 20 gallons of ro/di water, i went ahead and did some changes, i took everything out, there is literally nothing in there except the fish, the inverts are in the bottom of the tank. right now, the salt level is at 1.017, i'm hoping to get it down to 1.009 tomorrow...

    Starting Hyposalinity tomorrow

thanks corey, forgot to mention, its a fish only tank, absolutely no corals, i listed all the inverts i have in the tank. I am planning on leaving the fish in the display for this reason, thats why i do not mess with corals, why make things more complicated?:)
