What do I do with this coral?

Hello! I just inherited a frag of hammer coral. Since I have power compact lighting would this coral be happy at the top of my live rock where its brightest? Also, the coral came on a little cement disk. Do I leave it attached to the disk and just glue the disk down? Or should I try to take it...

At last... my tank is cycled!!

It looks like I need to do that. I just don't want to do the work if I'm going to upgrade lights in a month or two. I have no air movement in the hood when the flap is closed. I have two 80mm fans that I think I can mod in there. I'll see what I can do over the next few days, Maybe I can make a...

At last... my tank is cycled!!

Normally when I open the hood and I have ALL of the lights on I can feel heat radiating off the insides like an oven. In the pictures I linked I only had on 2 55 watts that are a bit old and don't create much heat. I have 2 96 watts that are brand new that I rarely turn on because they're the...

Where do you put your carbon? When is a good time to add it?

Hi! I'm trying to cycle my tank and I'm not sure if I need carbon yet. I don't know if it were interfere with the cycle process. Another question I have is where would I put it? Should I put it in my sump? If so do I just sprinkle it on a filter pad? Whats the best way to go about doing this? Thanks

Nevermind I found it :P This is an ASM G Series In-Sump Protein Skimmer. It came with a pump that was hiding on the bottom of a box. All it really requires is a powersupply and some water. It's really simple... now hehe
