What do I do with this coral?

Hello! I just inherited a frag of hammer coral. Since I have power compact lighting would this coral be happy at the top of my live rock where its brightest? Also, the coral came on a little cement disk. Do I leave it attached to the disk and just glue the disk down? Or should I try to take it off... which I'm sort of against.

how many watts is the light, and how big is the tank

I probably have a total of.. 350 watts of light, mostly 10k with a couple actinics. The tank is 60 gal normal standard shape.

It will be fine on the disk. That is just to weigh it down.
I have 2 hammers under PC lights. They love it, I get a new head almost 2 months.
My lights are 2x 65 watt. As long as you have something like that, and your tank is not too deep, they should be fine. If you have a deeper tank, just place them toward the top.

Thinking about it... my only issue with leaving it on the disk is that I will be able to see it on my rock. Will it eventually blend in? Or will the coral eventually grow and take over the little disk? I actually see a little head growing growing on the side near the bottom where the coral is glued which is pretty cool.

The diatoms and coraline will eventually cover the disk and itll look just like the rock. AS your hammer gets larger, it'll cover this disk up too. =)
