okay, o i will add some live rock from my established 55g tank. Also to add to that i used tap water and added the salt myself. it would be pretty expensive to by around 90g's of water factoring in rock and sand. was that a bad idea?

i believed it died off, it was once live rock and it started to give off a odor, not to sever. it was partially submerged in saltwater not fully. so i guess it would be considered dead rock. i don't know. i also plan to go FOWLR, even though i was thinking of doing a mixed tank.

hey there, this is my second tank. the first one is a 55g that was alreeady fully running for 2yr already. 2days ago i just mixed the water, put in about 80 of rock that died off, my fluval 405 (with no media), and threw in 3 raw shrimp to boost the cycling process. did i do this wrong? open to...
