    Hey- Wanted to use sand as a biological filter but was unsure about the dsb...will having only a half inch to an inch of good quality live sand still act as a nitrate reducer or does it need to be deep to have any effect at all. Thanks a lot.

    hey, i didnt feed my oscars feeders till i wanted them to breed.....then i got some feeders, set up a nice quarentine tank and got them nice, healthy and full of vita-chem. I had my ph right at 6.9 and they did it themselves. Easiest way is just to let them pair off, they dont need too much...
