    Bubble Algae

Anyone know how to get rid of bubble algae. I added 3 small emerald crabs to my reef, which I thought would do the trick, but they've been in there for a few months and havent touched it. Also, I put a rock overtop one of the bubbles to starve it of light, but it doesn't appear to be shrinking...

Staghorn hermit in a soft coral tank?

My staghorn just left its home for a washed out blue leg shell. I was so mad. Anyway, my tank is full of softies and I never saw a problem. Mine never left the substrate and actually I dont think I ever some him venture more then 6 inches from where he landed when I threw him in.

Want fish that swims through lr and reef safe

I just read what I typed after posting and noticed that a word I used for "tilt" that starts with a "c" then has an "o" then "c" then "k", was bleeped out. That's hilarious. I wasn't trying to be distasteful.

Want fish that swims through lr and reef safe

I agree with the bicolor. My favorite fish to watch and after reading you comment on the intelligence of your fish, I don't think you will be disappointed. Infact, in my opinion a bicolor acts much like a dog. I know that seems far fetched, but it will look right at you and **** it's head to...

Can a pistol shrimp break glass

I had a few in my tank at one point. Came with new live rock. I found them to be a pain, just because of the noise. But that's just my opinion.

    millions of air bubbles!!!

It might be your skimmer. I would check to see if your skimmer pump isn't leeking air. Sometimes if the hose is not on tightly, air bubbles will escape and if they are sucked up by your main return pump, your whole tank will look like Mr. Bubbles on roids. Just a possibillity.

Tiny Jellyfish everywhere! Read the last few posts

I did some research on these jellyfish creatures and turns out that they multiply rapidly under favorable water conditions. Nice to know that I have favorable water conditions cause I can literally be distracted for a few seconds, look back at my tank and there are a hundred more of these...

What did you do with your Mantis when you finally caught it?

Just curious...... and thought this might humor some people in the process. Whats the worst thing you have done to a trapped mantis shrimp? I have only had to deal with one thus far, and after many unsuccessful attempts, once I finally caught it, I boiled it in a pot of salt water till it...

    x-terminator

I've had the best luck with a 20 ounce plastic bottle. Over night, it caught my mantis and peppermint. I took the peppermint out and then boiled the mantis on the stove, then let the garbage disposal do the rest. I hope I don't get any grief about animal cruelty, but I had 6 months to think...

Tiny Jellyfish everywhere! Read the last few posts

Thats what they are...... the last picture on the post! So are these jellyfish harmful? I literally have hundreds of them. They are all over the glass and rocks in my tank. I'm sure they came from the live rock, but what do they do and should I be concerned?

    Hey, austin01...please read

I live on Hodges. Have you been to Atlantis Aquariums yet? Ray closed down Bio-Reef and started Atlantis about a month ago. Lot's bigger. I agree about Aqua Zoo. I will admit getting dry goods there sometimes as they are often much cheaper. But, as far as livestock goes.... I'll do without...

Tiny Jellyfish everywhere! Read the last few posts

Thanks for the ideas. I don't believe, however, that they are pods or worms, and I checked out the hitchiker website link and could not find my answer there either. They don't have a spiral shell, so I don't think they are a worm. It appears that they can move their tentacles to filter things...
