How many snails & hermits do you have? I had the same problem, 75gl tank. I added the Keep it Clean package. Which was 60 assorted snails, hermits, crabs, shrimp and a brittle star.... problem solved!

I do not use a salt mix, I buy salt water from my fish store. I tried mixing my own, what a pain. And it is really not that expensive, I would only save $15 per 50gl after buying the mix and good quality water. Then still have to haul water home and mix it. But I can tell you that my fish...
