    live rock

I purchased 200lbs lr from an online distributor and when I received it, it was still moist and there was hair, "gunk" all over it. I did not clean at all, just put in tank. That was about 1 1/2 months ago. I have a problem with cyanobacteria and was wondering if this could be the cause? I...

? what is the deal - Dying during and after acclimation

Thanks for all your help. I think that me only using NovAqua and no treatment of tap to remove chloramines might be part of my problem. I am also going to perform a 50% water change before proceeding. Thank you.

    RO water

Should RO water contain phosphates? I have to add 1 gal per day b/c of evaporation and the RO water I am using contains .1ppm phosphate. Is this a contributing factor for my algae problem? Thanks.

    Phosphates

Thanks, I do not currently know what the level is, but I have thick algae on the LR and back of my tank. I have removed some from the LR and it is starting to reappear within about 5 days now. I see what you are saying about the present algae releasing phos and it becomes a cycle. I will get...

    Are turbo snails dying?

This morning I acclimated about 40 turbo snails. For about 4 hours now, they are just lying there not moving. After acclimation, I just let them fall on the substrate and then made sure that none are upside down. Is there a best place to place them? How will I know if they are alive or dead...

tank has cycled but still losing fish

It has been 3 weeks since the setup of my tank. I originally set it up with 60 lbs of live rock and 16 damsels. LFS told me to use that many and they all died. A couple of them could not be retrieved due to being buried under the substrate that I added a day later. One week later, I ordered...
