    protein skimmer

bowser220: So you dont have sump? Meaning that your tank isnt drilled and reef ready?? If so then I would recommend the the AquaC Remora skimmers. I have heard alot of good things about this brand. I have no personal experience with them, but this is just what I have read in the past. If you do...

Should I pair my clown up?

Travis89: Hey the clown I have is about 2 inches as well. The new clown I added was the same size. So definately make sure it is about half the size. I really hope it works out for you. A true pair of clowns is awesome. Good luck. ~Tony

i'm new to this, what do you think of my tank?

I agree with everyone, MOST LFS will tell you anything to get a sale. Its sad but it does happen, they are a business and have families to feed. You really should have cycled your tank first, takes about 6 weeks or so. Everything may seem fine now, but the {edit - langauge} will hit the fan...

Should I pair my clown up?

Be careful! I had a pair of True Percula's and a few years back the female jumped out. Well just recently I decided to get my current clown a mate. Unfortunately the one I purchased it seems has already turned into a female. THEY DO NOT GET ALONG!! I am currently looking for a new home for both...

    Red Bubble Algae....

I have a green bubble algea growing like mad in my tank. I plan on taking all of the rocks out and scrubbing the bubble algea off with a toothbrush. Then dipping them in a batch of saltwater to rinse them off, then slap em back in my tank. Its gonna be a long day!

How do you know if it's dead? (cleaner shrimp)

Are you sure it is actually the shrimp behind the rock and not just his molt? I have had my cleaner shrimp do this before. Sometimes their molt will stay perfectly in tact and look like another shrimp just sitting there. It could look especially convincing if the molt is hidden behind rock work...

Looking for lights, have a question about length

Here are my recommendations, from personal experience of course: First we need to know what type of tank you intend to keep? What is your budget for lighting? I assume you are building a canopy correct? If I were you I would build the canopy higher so that you have the option to upgrade to MH's...

    Florida Condi

Bucko, Anemones require high intensity lighting to survive in the long term. When I was new to saltwater I bought an Atlantic Anemone and it survived for only a few months under PC's. Yes they will move around quite a bit until they find an area with the proper amount of lighting and flow...

    aaarrrggghhh Aptasia

I have another alternative that has always worked for me in the past. I usually take a small peice of rubble/rock sitting on my sandbed and slap a bunch of super gluegel on one side. I place the rock against the aiptasia and let the glue dry over top of the pest (this is done while the rock is...

    Angels in a reef tank

Im not really sure about that angel, however I know that the Genicanthus species are typically reef safe. These fish include Swallowtail Angel, Lamarcks Angel, and Wantanabe Angel. I currently have a Lamarcks angel in my reef and he doesn't touch a thing, except the food I feed him. If you check...

FS: 180g Canopy, Light Oak, Jax,FL

Im selling a 180 gallon canopy. It has a top opening lid. It is light oak and in excellent condition. It doesnt have enough clearance for MH's, however it would be excellent for a large FO tank.
