¿snails?

tonight before my lights went out I spotted something wierd on one of my snails. there were 2 of them coming off of the top halfe of a turbo. they were about 6 inchis and they look like hair strands. at the end of them looks like a tiny feather duster. they have no color, and they move with the current. when my cleaner shrinp tuched them they retracted in to the snail, and then came out about 5 miniutes later.
does anyone know what these could be???

need more info.... are they white? hooked to the shell? how far do they retract? it may be a parisite worm of some sort... if possible take it to your LFS and maybe he can help ID the thing...

they retract until they are about 1/2 in long coming out of the snail. I looked this morning, and now there are three of them.
oh yea, they are hooked to the snail, and there is a sm 1cm diamiter black spot where they are hooked.
the snail fell on its back and died, but those things are still there
