Today, I will start a 0.8 gal pico reef.
I will start off with:
-RO water
-Red Sea substrate
-0.5lb of fine tonga live rock
-3 Red tip hermit crabs
-10 000k 13w spiral bulb
-Some cheatos macro algae
When the tank will settle down, I will add some soft corals and even a small clam.
The filtration will only be biological, I will run a weekly based test for ammonia, pH and NO2 to see if the live rock and sand will be able to handle the wastes in a small tank like this one.
I will post pics in 10 hours or so, please encourage me! lol

Ummmmm.... cycle?
You're going to have to fed that feather duster... they don't do too well nutirional in the largest richest tanks.....
Be sure to get a pic of the clam...... or do you know what it is? What kind of lights were you planning on putting over your tank?

I used half of the water from my nano tank, half RO water and already cured rock and sand from my nano. It's still gonna do a small cycle, but not as violent as a full cycle. Live rock and sand has many living organism on it to transform the bad stuff into neutral and my pico is gonna be used to farm copepods for my mandarin fish I don't yet have in my nano. :)

Hahaha! I'm sorry! Your right! It's a chiton that I put upside down thinking it was a clam... Poor me. Anyways, are chitons good for the tank? I guess so, they eat algae and bacterias!
