This is my first saltwater tank. I am learning new things everyday from this message board. I have a 29 gallon w/ coralife light. The only thing that i have lost in this tank was a gorophora(spelled wrong) becaues at the time i didnt know i needed a MH light to keep hard coral. Any thoughts...thanks

lol ok. I was asking what they were on tho... like it doesnt look like live rock to me? it looks like idk kinda somewhat like a korolia or pvc or something, the zoos in the sand.

hi. how long have you had the mandarin? they say you need alot of live rock to sustain one.

ya i thought you said the clowns and the second post of pics was your friends but on further inspection it is the same tank with your stocklist..
Anyways if you still have the mandarin in your 29 i would move it to a bigger tank or get rid of it, unless you have a lot of money. You can buy pods. (there is some places online that will sell 1,000-2,000 for like 18 plus shipping, and one place i found you could buy 30,000 pods for like 125 plus shipping.) but unless you have a HUGE refugium on there, he wont last.

i have had him for 6 months and he seems to be ok...i have seen him eat brime shrimp once in awhile. i have read the you are right they need a lot of rock to feed on pods.

also I dont think those clowns will ever get along in that size tank and you may wake up one day with only 2...

But its a great looking tank, looks bigger than a 29.

yeah i know there is that chance...when i frist got them they almost killed the one, but he survived in a rock for a few months to heel. Then he came out and is doing fine. so i guess we will see what happens

if i were you i would return the third clown and the mandarin and instead get,
a blackcap basslet, a yellow watchman with pistol shrimp, and a green clown goby.
or some other things you could get, if you had a 3+ inch sand bed you could get a jawfish, a yellow wrasse, firefish.
