10,000k vs. 14,000k

Personal preference. 10,000K is whiter, 14,000K has a bit more blue in it.
If you look at specific bulbs, generally the 10,000K bulb will have more PAR (produces more usable light). It's not a rule though, some 14,000K bulb have more PAR than some 10,000K bulbs and some bulbs work better on certain ballasts so you have to research the bulbs individually. Dr. Sanjay Joshi has done a lot of research in this area if you want to Google his name.

well from what i read, if you are trying to have more growth, 10K is better than 14K. but then again 14K is better than 20K..10k vs 14k in my opinion, 14K makes my zoas look more colorful

What is the benefit of a 14,000k vs. over a 10,000k? Is there any difference?
10K and supplement with Actinics....10K for better growth and the Actinics for dusk/dawn and to blue up the color a bit.
Just my opinion.

The color of the bulb is different from one ballast make/model to another so please check out Sanjay's site for your specific configuration. PAR values differ as well.
