The "Know it all" staff dude at the LFS sold me this "DYING BRAIN" for $10.
I count 45+ nickel sized polyps of something that looks like that ASTRACAN stuff.
What you guys think..?

That, my friend, is an Acanthastrea lordhowensis, and doesn't look like it's dieing to me. Congrats on the find, a colony like that should've sold for around $160.

Thanks Guys..
I had a feeling it was ASTRA something when I stared at it for like 10 mins.
The thing about it is, this dude at the shop, thinks he is the state genius when it comes to saltwater and reef tanks.
( This is the same dude who told me I didnt need to let my saltwater mix and aerate for more then ** 5 Minutes** before I could add it to my tank.)
( I mix and aerate overnight these days ** 8-12hrs.)
Man , I am glad I read the boards here, and I'm going to see if he is getting anymore "DYING BRAIN's in anytime soon..

well joemc you have to let the salt mix properly and get SPG levels all correct and temp. correct if you add it in 5 min. after adding salt to your RO water(i hope)the tank will become unstable

Let me know if they have anymore dying brains, I'd like one :hilarious
ps- I'm not positive, but I think the closed brains get really aggressive at night, so might wanna have a buffer zone.

I moved it to a more suitable spot for the most valuable peice I own..
To the middle of my tank.
It seems to like the MHs' better then the PC.
I fed it last night using a flashlight , when just the moonlights were on.
All the little feeder things were out.
I filled its gut good.
I will take a new pic in a few days.
