10 Gal Nano, Skimmer?

I have a 10 Gal nano tank, powerhead with 117 gph, heater, and a aquaclear 150. I'm looking for a skimmer for my tank because I'm going to add fish within the next week or two. The tank is right next to my headboard on my bed, so a silent or virtually silent skimmer is what I'm looking for. Also being under $100 would be a best for my budget. From past experience what kind of skimmers do you think would work best for me?
Also, how fit would a small regal (hippo) tang be for a 10g nano, my friend tells me they're very succeptible to ick and would outgrow it pretty quickly. Would a tiny hippo tang be a fish i could have or no? If not what other nice looking fish would be good for a 10g that arent ick prone and dont grow too fast?

Welcome!
On my 10 I have used 2 different skimmers. The first one was one of those little in tank airstone jobs. I had to cut it down a couple of inches to make it fit. It worked well but took up too much room in the tank. I have a SeaClone 100 HOB now & like it better.
As far as fish go, for a ten you can only have 2 or 3 small ones, fewer if you also want corals. There are gobies that work well. Maybe a couple of chromis. IMO a ten is not big enough for a hippo of any size.

I was told by my friend who knows a little more about the aquarium hobby than myself that a seaclone 100 is the worst type of skimmer i could get. Does it work well/ is it completely silent? The price on it is very good, but if it isnt good enough to do the job i wouldnt mind spending more money for something that does.
Also in response to the fish, you think i could have a clown, another small fish (not a hippo), and than a goby or 2. The reason i'd be getting the skimmer instead of doing weekly water changes would be instead of having only 2 fish to have possibly 3 and not have fish waste be a big problem.
-thanks for responding so fast, keep the advice coming i really appreciate it

I use a seaclone100 in my sump for my 10g, but only because I baught one before doing enough research for my 30g. It works alright, but can be pretty loud and also I have to adjust the airflow alot because it likes to dump back in lots of bubbles. Even if you get a skimmer, nothing beats doing regular water changes with RO water. It adds back a lot of the nutrients that the fish and other creatures use up and it also keeps your tank clear

Yea, i keep on hearing how bad the seaclone is. But i still am interested in getting a skimmer for my 10gal. I dont mind doing water changes, its pretty easy, but again im looking for a good SILENT or virtually silent skimmer that will help my tank stay clean and unpolluted and it seems the seaclone is not it. From my research so far I've come across the bak-pak2r and the red sea prism. What do you guys think of those? Do they make noise? My tank is next to my bed so anything that would be an annoyance is out of the question. I've already ruled out getting a seaclone because of all the bad things ive heard about them. Please if anyone has any knowledge of what skimmer they might have on a small reef tanks or fit what im looking for please post replies; here are the priorities in this order
1. Silent or virtually silent
2. High quality skimmer for a 10g nano reef
3. As reasonably priced as possible

I like my SeaClone. The problems normally associated with them seem to be their need for adjustment, which is often. As far as producing, they work great. As far as silent goes, the quietest ones run on airstones and not powerheads.

anyone else have any other skimmer option or ideas? My friend has already convinced me not to get the seaclone 100.

I have a seaclone on my 90g tank. It is useless on that tank. I recently got a euroreef and am planning on upgrading. That said, I am taking the seaclone and putting it on my nano. For a tank that small, you wouldn't need a much better skimmer.
A better skimmer would be an AquaC Remora or turbofloater, but I do think that a seaclone would suffice on a 10g.
