i am getting a ten gal what fish should i put in it?
how much live rock?
what do i need?

10-15 lbs liverock. no livestock for at least a month saltwater :hilarious small heater light powerhead to move water, filter.

IMO, EXPERIENCE. 10 will be very hard to control levels if you are brand new. The largr the tank, the easier it is to keep water quality good.

thanks i have 10 years experience with freshwater and can't afford a large tank at the moment but want to get started right away i bought a 10 gal pre circulated saltwater tank that previously housed live rock from a friend.

10 yrs in fw helps little in sw IMO. Just trying to help ya out. Smaller tanks are just harder. If you have to start this one, then I suggest 10-15 lbs. of LR and about 1 1/2"-2" of LS. A hob bio filter and 1 ph should do the trick on filtrtion and water movement. A goby or a pair of clowns might be ok in there. You will really be limited in how many fish in such a small tank. Goog Luck, whatever you decide.
