10 gallon filter

I am using an emperor 330 for filtration on my 10 gallon tank. It seems to keep the water circulated pretty good. Do I need to add a power head in my tank also or will the 330 be enough water movement for 10 gallons. Also is there any tweaks to do on these filters to make them better. They have 2 removable media baskets which I dont use cause there is already carbon in the filter pads. Should I be using the filter pads?

if you doing just fish than no you don't need a powerhead, if you have only soft corals I'd also say probably no but if you get into LPS and SPS corals than I'd put a maxijet 600 or something in there.

The only reason I have a filter on my 10g reef is to run carbon every now an again. Besides that the filter stays empty , I have 15lbs of lr an 20lbs of ls , so I feel good about how filtered my water is due to all the lr. I also do a 1g water change every week or every other week an all my corals are doing great..HTH

Sounds really good to me! Are you running a protein skimmer.

No skimmer just the emperor 330. I removed the pads today and added some LR rubble in their place. I think it will be like my mini fuge. And I think I will be adding some macro as I think that the HOB gets enough light from the tank lights. What do you guys think about this. Good idea or bad? I have 10 lbs of live sand and about 12 lbs of LR. I was thinkig besides the filter pads holding waste and causing a nitrate problem that also they wer interfering with my pods and other small beneficial creatures. Any comments?
