anyone use a 1000 watt bulb?
what bulb?
how much tank is covered by 1 bulb?
good coral growth?
good coral color?

Actally, I do not remember the name of my bulb. It is made in germany though.
Most would recomend one bulb for every two feet of tank though. HTH

my lfs said becuase of the intensity these bulbs can cover 4 ft and 6 feet deep
the cost between 2 400w and 1 1000 is not much so why not upgrade
i was thinking of putting one on a 94g corner instead of 2 400
you can't match the intensity of a 1000

I thought about using one on a cube tank design but that was trashed for the in wall tank. I did lots of research and found that the euro 1000 watt ballast from SS was cheaper to run then the dual 400 watt HQI ballast. I'm sure you've seen the 1000 watt bulb Carlos is running. I don't know how's he doing it or why but he's using a 600 watt ballast (I thought that's what he said) to run the 1000 watt bulb.
For it to cover 4 feet you'd have to have it pretty high up.
