I am thinking about getting a 100 gallon tank I would like a trigger but can some one help me pick a trigger that would do well in a 100gal community tank and what are would be some good tankmates for it.
Sorry for the double post but I have a stocklist that I like here it is.
1 blue throat trigger
1 banna peel angle
1 snowflak eel
1 atlantic blue tang
Would this work?
You might get some people say the tank is not big enough for a tang, but I think it is and you'll only have 3 swimming fish, so it won't be too crowded. Make sure you have a good cover for the tank because snowflakes are great at escaping through any small holes.
You should make your own sump. It's cheaper that way and it's very easy to do. All you need is a 30gal tank, some pieces of plexiglass and tank silicone sealant. Do a search here for sumps and you'll get some examples.
My Niger is the meanest fish in the tank but he's got great personality. They also get really big but they're not fast growers. I don't know, the blue throat might be a better choice for a 100gal. If you do get a Niger, get a small one. This way you'll be ok for a few years.
Nigers are fun to watch. Like yesterday, mine decided to guard the algae clip.
Even though he wasn't eating any of the algae, he wasn't gonna let any other fish come close to it. Did that for a few hours, then went back to normal.
They're compatible with all the fish on your list. As far as overcrowding, if you have a good skimmer and filtration system I think it'll be ok. Just don't add all these fish at once. Do it slowly, one at a time.
ive heard that dragon wrases in the wild flip rocks and stuff in search of food so i dont kno if that would be good in a home aquarium especilly with a snowflake eel that could get smuched im jst saying this is what i heard
