I hate to disagree, but both the trigger and the eel are potentially harmful to the lionfish.
Most eels and triggers are out of the question when searching for tankmates for lions. Stick to fish like groupers, tangs, and peaceful wrasses like the Harlequin Tusk.

The main problem is the size of the tank, which is not big enough for the Trigger or Volitan, period.

I have a 100gal as well... I was thinking of an eel (I wanted to do a garden eel.. but now I'm shying away from that because of the min. 6" sand bed)... a clown trigger, a twinspot wrasse, and a puffer (sadle or valentino, but these might be too passive?). Would this combo work? Any suggestions? Is that too many fish?

most have those fish grow too big as previously stated and if you have questions i would suggest starting a new post. people dont like other people taking over their threads. not flaming just advice to a newbie to the forum :joy:
