100watts of lighting for a thirty gallon setup?

Should 100 watts of lighting be enough for a 30tall? LFS guy said 90 would be plenty for soft corals only, thats all i want.

not for a tall i have 83 watts for my standard thirty and in a tall ur gonna need a lot more than flourscents.u might be able to keep shrooms and one the tal tank the surface area sucks (oxygen exchange)
