10g clean up crew??

I have a 10g with a 20gL sump/refug that is cycling. I was wondering what i needed for a cleanup crew? Every where i look they have cleanup crews for larger tanks, but not for a 10g. I was wondering on how many and what type of snails? Also what is the difference between the scarlet and Hawaiian zebra hermitcrabs? I don't want any blue leg hc because i had problem with them in my 30g. I am planning on putting corals in the tank, so i need reef safe criters. Would a QueenConch be good for the tank, i saw that it is offered on this website with reef packages. Thanks for any and all information.

i think for a 10g the cleanup crew doesnt have to be that extreme. maybe like 10 astrea snails... a few emerald crabs... maybe 10 scarlet hermits (i asked earlier about the zebra and got a lot of negative answers, they are evil apparently...) and maybe 1 of the bigger turbo snails. i think the conches get too big for a 10 gallon, they recommend one for every 20-30 gallons of water so i do think you need one. i personally am a fan of shrimp, but i dont think that they eat as much as crabs. well... thats my tidbit of info, hope that helps :)

Thanks. I found some information on the Zebras and it said they had temperments like the bluelegs, so I will not be placing any of them in my tank. Thanks for the information on the conch. I think i will go with the 10snails and 10 hermits, but like you said I like shrimp better than the crabs, so i guess I will have to start looking for information on both. Thanks!

Other people know a lot more about this than I do, but in my 10gal I have 2 turbos and 2 nassarius, and a green linkia starfish. So far no problems. But I have no fish at all. Hope that helps.

live rock,
you do have to worry about some starfish being with corals, but im pretty sure all of the linkia species are reef safe... you should check out the orange linkias, they are awesome and stay pretty small. they are also the hardiest of the linkia's from what ive heard. i wouldnt recommend putting in any other kind of starfish, but with a 10g i dont know if you should even get one. i dont know too much about starfish, but i know that they are very sensitive to nitrates/nitrites/ammonia. oh yeah, stay away from the blue linkias, they almost never live in captivity. well, good luck with your tank! post pics if you can :D

Thanks. I did some research on starfish and came to the same conclusion that a starfish would not do well in a 10g. What do yall know about Shrimp? I was looking at the peppermint shrimp and the flame(fire) shrimp. Can't really find any difference in their behavoirs, just how they look and of course their cost. Any help would be great. I am thinking of getting 5 scarlet HC, 5 Astraea snails, 1 turbo snail, and 1 shrimp. Any suggestions good or bad? My tank still has a little while to cycle, so I am in no hurry.
Thanks

LiveRock27--have you heard back regarding the pep. shrimp or fire shrimp. I currently have a 10g, 20# LS, LR, one perc, and 10 blue legged hermint crabs (haven't really caused me any problems, but we'll see). I also want a better clean up crew.
....also, how did you set up your sump/fuge? I'd like to get one going but haven't the clue to the requirements. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
