i got a 10 gallon my clown used to be in and moved everything into the 18 gal.
i was wondering if there is any cool small eels, pufferfish, any small species that can live in a 10 gallon?

No puffers would fit in that tank, and any eel you get at 3-4 inches would very quickly outgrow it.
And eels are super messy eaters, so it would be difficult to keep the parameters set in a tank that small

I think the eel would be trying to escape the whole time. Id do something different, like a dwarf lion with some zoo's and mushrooms.

A Dwarf would outgrow that tank real quick. I did see a 1.5" Fu man chu Lion at the LFS yesterday, but it won't stay that size for long, and as it has been stated before, you will need good filtration in that tank for predatory fish. Basically, unless you are QTing a fish like that in a tank that size, keeping aggressive fish in nanos is a bad idea. Having said that. you the hobbiest are going to do what you want to do.
if you do decide you want to do an aggressive tank that size, here is what you will need. A whole lot of filtration, probably a hob filter that is rated for 3 times the size of your tank, and if you can find one small enough to fit that tank a protein skimmer. you will need a good clean up crew, I suggest probably 5 to 6 red leg hermits (clean up algae and detritus) 3 nassarius (SP?) snails, and a snail or two to keep the glass clean. Then Save your $ and be ready with a set up of at least 40 gal in a maximum of one year.
It is just a bad idea to put a fish like that in a tank that small. Your water quality is going to fluctuate rapidly, due to the small size of the tank. If something goes wrong, it will be too late before you know it.

good choice.

shrimp goby and a pistol shrimp might be cool in a tank that size, or maybe a small type of mantis shrimp....

i have a snowflake eel in my 20g and theres plenty of room for it. ya it will get big but most of the time its chillin under the rock waiting to be fed. it will outgrow a 10g in time. i plan on keeping mine for a while in the 20g. its been done but over time inned something bigger for it.

Golden dwarf moray. Max size is like a foot. Expensive.
I second the mantis tank. Get one of the species that doesn't break glass.

fu man chu isnt a dwarf. and I realize it would be a little small, but I would have no problem with keeping a dwarf lion in a 10g for a good long while. 'specially if it was the only thing in there.

A small mantis species won't break glass. Its mainly full grown peacocks and larger smashers that will break the glass. If i was you i would go with a Gonodactylus smithii or a Neogonodactylus wennerae. Both good hardy species that will be active.

are ya saying that if it was alone in there with nice filtering and such, a fu man chu lion could be possible or would i still have to upgrade in the future?

a fu man chu lion, Dendrochirus biocellatus
, is a dwarf. same genus as the fuzzy dwarf and the zebra. none of them are suitable for a 10 gal tank, as they all reach 5+".

aw so a fu manchu wouldn't be suitable either?

seems like there is no sort of neat fish that can fit in a 10g

there are a few fish that can be in a 10gallon long-term, just not any predators. think about it...in order for a fish to be a predator (eat other fish or motile inverts), it has to be a big fish itself.
