yea thats a good idea
...im get'n a 15k tues from the lfs, it finaly arrived .ive waited a month for it to come in.im get'n the radiant 400w mh for $84..i have a 20k now but i think its realy old and i never liked its color anyway.....ill take be4 and after pics tuesday evening

10k to yellow

20k to blue :scared:
15k just right

nope, 14 k just right! lol It depends what you're looking for in your light too, 10k's are far more intense than 20k's.

here u go hers my 180 lit by 2-250W phoenix 14K HQI bulbs on PFO HQI ballast and PFO mini pendants....
i would add a third light but my electric bill this month alone was $496 out here in so cali so i dont think the third light is in order right now....
all my sps seem fine and grow well i keep them away from the edges and thats where i put more of the LPS and softies since they dont need as much light....
the 14K's do an awesome job and all my corals are very happy even with just a total of 500W of MH over my tank and another 130W of PC..... so if u think about it i only have 3.5WPG over my tank and i keep various acros, LPS, softies, anemone and clams....
so WPG isnt the only keep factor

murph145, either your amera is really really good, or your tank is absolutely GORGEOUS!

I bet on both.
Anyway, I can't afford MH, I cried over that yesterday...
...and I definately cant afford a $500 electricity bill :scared:

lol naww its a cheapy camera but works great its a olympus 4 megapixel camera i think i got it for under $200
yeah the tanks coming along and doing very well.... the electric bill i dont even think about cuz ill kill myself!
so anyone else got some pics of the differences in lights for clownfish?? ***)
