12000K MH ??

What do you think about 12000K Metal Halide bulbs.

I beleave the good news is you won't need to use atintic bulbs with them, but as the Kelvin rating gets larger than 10,000K the bulb life goes down.

I wasnt very impressed with the color or the intensity of the 12K. HTH

So a 10K supplimented with actinics would be brighter and more blue than a 12K only?

I personally like and use the 250 watt 12000K on both my tanks. I have been using them for about 2 years now. Corals have always seemed to respond well, growth rates are good, and color is really nice.
