125 FOWLR Setup - Central PA - PICK UP ONLY $450 FIRM if you take it all
For Sale:
125 gallon FOWLR setup:
Standard 125 gallon glass tank - simulated dark wood trim/ not a reef ready tank (I think this is a Perfecto tank)
Store bought dark wood stand with 2 double doors in the front.
Approximately 20lbs of Aragamax sand.
Estimated live rock weight - 60 to 90 lbs. This includes some previously dead coral skeletons, shells and a few pieces of store bought – fabricated rock that is now live. The rock has bacteria, sponge and amphipods only - no coral, no worms. The sponge survives in crevaces and in the sump in small amounts. The fish eat it before it grows. I have let it grow in another tank and it is an encrusting sponge that becomes purple in the right lighting environment.
The filtration is currently down to the circulation, the live rock and a 10 gallon aquarium as a sump. The 10 gallon is half filled with BIO ball type media. Partial water changes have been helpful as well.
The lighting on this tank is just a typical Perfecto type tank hood and 2 double bulb lighting strips.
Pumps included are one Quiet One 3000, one Quiet one 6000 and one Maxi Jet 1200. Very quiet pumps. The sound of running water is all I hear from the aquarium.
This tank has a hang on overflow setup.
The fish in the tank are:
1 Blonde Naso Tang (between 9 - 11 inches plus streamers) I've had it for 3 years.
1 Queen Angelfish (about 5 inches) - I've had it for about 2 years.
1 Grey Angelfish (about 9 - 10 inches) - I've had it for about 3 years. It was about 1.5 inches when I bought it.
1 Yellow Tang ( I took this fish to save it from another tank where it was beat up pretty bad. It's about 3 inches long and I've had it for about 4 months. It's fins are very slowly recovering, but there's been great improvement since I put it in the tank. I didn't think it would live 2 days after it was beat up that bad.
2 Damsels - Yellow Tail Blue Damsel and one 4 Stripe Damsel.
There are a few Snails in there too.
$450.00 for everything
This is for pick up only.
I may consider separate offers for the fish. I can't sell anything else if I still have fish. I have someone who would buy the tank if I part this out.
I am relocating very soon and prefer to move without the aquarium. .... Getting out of hobby for now.
Cash or POSTAL Money order preferred on everything.
Actual Location is Annville, PA - 2 towns east (15 - 20 minutes) of Hershey, PA.
50 minutes north of Lancaster
20 - 25 minutes east of Harrisburg
50 minutes west of Reading
You will need SALT!
:jumping: This is a GREAT DEAL!
You can't even buy just the empty tank and stand new for this price! This set up includes much more than an empty tank and stand !

These guys are too big for the 10 and 20 gallon tanks. They have a 6 foot swimming distance now and I think they confined alreay! They wouldn't live long in shorter tanks and they'd splash alot of that water out. The Grey Angel soaked my shirt a few times already when I had the lid open. Besides the early death .. bad for the fish, the expense of the fish and the shipping (The LFS would ship them for me at 25 bucks a box and they would each need a box) isn't worth it, since they would not live long ... bad for you. Thanks anyway.

I'd have to confirm the shipping arrangement this week with the LFS. It's been about 7 weeks since they said they would ship these for me. I'd sell the 2 Angelfish for $40.00 each, so that's $80.00 for both plus whatever shipping costs are. I'll see if a one box shipment for these 2 is possible and get back to you if you are interested. So that would be $80 plus $25 for one box or $80 plus $50 if 2 boxes are necessary. If that interests you, let me know what city they need to be shipped to, so I can get specific pricing. ..... Also, please put these guys in the 210 gallon, not in anything smaller than 6 feet in length. Thanks.

Email to the address on your website? I tried to PM you, but that feature is disabled. Your email is not accesable through this message board. I can send you pics .... but they are not the higher quality photos that you have on your website.

We've been staying with family here. I can leave the tank here for a few weeks if I have to. I may even still be living here by the 14th if I'm still painting and working in the house before we move in. If you'll definitely be heading out this way, I can leave this stuff set up for now. I just want to get this tank and all of our stuff out of here soon so my family can have their rooms back. They've let us stay here to get situated in PA and find a house, which we've done. Id take $70 for the Red Sea Blonde Naso. It cost me $169 in 2001 and it's grown. I just saw a Grey Angel half the size of this one for $79 and the Queen would cost about $95 now so these fish are definitely priced to sell. The whole setup is! I'll email the pics I have.

Not interested. That's the lowest offer I've had yet! After shipping, that gives me $15 bucks for the fish. I can easily sell it for $15.00 without shipping. It would cost me about $6 in gas just getting it to the LFS in Lancaster to be shipped. It's not close. It wouldn't be worth the other $9 to catch and bag it to be shipped. Thanks anyway.

I've had a few days of back and forth posts on other aquarium message boards with people wanting things for almost free at the end. It would be better to keep the set up than to put effort into giving this stuff away. If these prices are too high, then all hobby prices are.
*****************************************************
If anyone is seriously interested in buying any of this stuff, please let me know. Shipping would be a hassle and I can't guarantee the fish would arrive alive, so if you can't pick this stuff up, then please don't ask me to ship. Thanks.

I have been trying to make the effort to find them a good home. The thought of someone buying these fish from that LFS and putting them in a little 3 or 4 ft death box is depressing. I 've seen too many message board posts from people who have a 55 gallon tank loaded with Angels, Tangs and Triggers and bragging about how they are proving all of experienced aquarists wrong because their fish have all lived in there for 5 weeks. They consider that time period to be real success. I have been trying to avoid allowing any of those irresponsible aquarists from stuffing these fish into one of those toxin building death tanks. They should live 10 to 15 more years in a good environment. If you didn't have the 210, I wouldn't have pursued the sale, although I'm not certain you wouldn't have turned around and tried to sell them to who knows who. I bought these fish and I respect the responsibility that comes with taking control of their lives after they were plucked from their natural environment. I want to find them a good home.

I will definately be out that way then. My family and I are headed out that way for the weekend. We are planning on visiting That Fish Place among other things. I may also be interested in some live rock if the price is right. Please email me pictures if you can to ptucker2(at)adelphia.net

osufarker,
I sent pictures to you. The rock is the main part of my filtration, so I need to find the fish a good home before I sell the rock.
That Fish Place is always worth the trip!
I'd pass on eating at the Manhattan Bagel in the next parking lot though. Just a tip. They seem to have new ownership and the last sandwich I ate there made me feel a way that would ruin a nice family trip!
:scared:
Things could be straightened out there by now, but there are many great restaurants in Lancaster.

I've been running scenarios in my head of how I could buy all your fish and live rock from you, but I know it won't work. I will be setting up a 240 gallon SW tank soon, but am not ready yet. I have a 125 now, but it would be way overstocked to add all those fish. Also, I don't think my 9" queen would be very kind to another queen. On top of that we would be pushing it for space in the car.
Anyway after my rambling, I would like to buy the Blonde Naso Tang from you. $70 sounds fair. Would it be possible for you to meet me in Lancaster on Saturday August 14 so we don't have to drive out of our way. If that is not possible, let me know, and perhaps we can arrange something else.

A 240! Nice! Yeah, The 14th sounds good. I should be needing some frozen food by then and that's where I get it. I'll bring the Naso.
2 Queens in a 125 would get dangerous!
Let me know if your plans change. Otherwise, I'll contact you closer to that day and we can set up a meeting time. Thanks.

I would love to get this Queen Angel if you still have it. I'm in MD. Are you coming around my way anytime soon where we can arrange a pick-up? If not, what is the shipped priced.
