No pics! You'll have to upload them to photobucket right now. The site has been upgrading.

Looks good!
You going to polyurethane over the top of that? As well as the inside of it to help waterproof?

just a suggestion
I would put the sump in the middle and divert the flow to each compartment, or run thru the skimmer then the fuge, that way your not skimming things you want to go into the DT, such as pods and copods.

Hey ameno!
We kicked around the flow to center design, but elected for the flow through design. Reason being, larger fuge space. I dont know if we'll do the raised pump with podpile under it or not yet, we'll see how it all looks when we go to assemble. We might swap the two compartmnents around, but if we do that, that then the water level has to be lower in the fuge. It wont be able to be any higher than the skimmer compartment, we were shooting for an 8" skimmer compartment.

you could always built a small stand under your skimmer to get were it needs to be, that's what I did, that's if you have the height for that, eighter way I'm sure some of the blowby from the skimmer will send some pods up to the DT, I just like the sump in the middle set-up, feel I have better flow control over each compartment.
Good luck with the build, will be looking for pics come monday. I still gota do this skimmer mod someday, but this weekend gona be in the 60's I'm taking the boat out for a spin, and taking a four wheeler trip, got spring fever.

Hello Doc, awesome stand!!!
I will be starting mine this weekend too. But anywho, the sump that you are using on this one is the same design that you suggested to me (which I am working on now) question, on the3rd baffle from the left, why is it split? Why would you put the top half on that? I am sure that you have a good reason but for the life of me I cannot figure this out, I’m just looking for enlightenment.

I think the 55 looks good I don't know about raising the pump thou, I think i'd rather have it all the way to the bottom. Here is some pics with the stand built and the tank painted and setting on the stand.

The space btween those baffle forces the water to come out at that point, travel diagonally upthrough your cheato. Otherwise the water just comes straight up and moves along the surface.
