125 Gallon Aquarium My List of Wants

I bought my first aquarium!
And now I'm broke and dreaming of the fish I want in there so I want to make sure it would work
125 gallons equals 25 inches of fish right?
So from that I've made my dream list:
Juvinille Emporer Angelfish
Longnose Butterflyfish
Blue Hippo Tang
Yellow Tang
2x Percula Clowns
2x Black and White Percula Clowns
2x Neon Gobies
Blue Linka Starfish
Fire Shrimp
Now I will sell the Emporer as soon as it gets older and since all these fishes are pushing it I'm willing to forget about the Butterflyfish and Gobies.
I Need Any Advice

that sounds like a pretty good fish list to me but just to warn you ... those two pairs of clowns might fight for dominance .. also .. inch per 5 gallon rule isn't very accurate ... but you got lucky and it worked in this case

I'd hold out on the Blue Linka they are very delicate and would be way down the road.....The acclimation is very important there.....2 types of clowns probably won't go as well.....

me too. Other than that, though, it looks good. you should add the fish in order of aggressiveness, so the least aggressive go in first, and the most aggressive go in last. That way, the most aggressive have to establish their territories around the other less aggressive ones.

I agree with lion and acrylic. But you need to think about how big they are going to get. I honestly wouldn't trust the angel with corals or sponges. They should be fine w/ anenomes but I could be wrong. In the wild, an angels main diet as an adult is sponge. I think as juvi's they are considered more "reef safe"(and I use the term loosely), that they are when they are adults. Honestly, no angel is reef safe. There are certain things they will pick on and certain things they won't. For example(yes I know it's not an angel), I had a 5" hippo tang(all tangs are pretty much considered reef safe), that would pick on my pulsing xenia and purple ribbon gorgonian. I couldn't explain it, and was mystified any time he did it.

So basicly I need to get rid of the mini coral reef idea while having the angel.
Also I've read that Blue Hippo Tangs are hard to take care of.
I've decided to forget about the Blue Tang and one species of the percula clowns and the star fish idea. I want a low maintance tank since I'm sometimes with my mom(who freaked when she saw the tank coming in her house) or my dads. I want a star but I want a low maintence, small and fat(not the long arm types) and colorful. So any advice about hardy fish is welcome. Also how hard are Achilles Tangs to keep?

extremely hard .. much harder than Blue Hippo Tangs .. I've had 2 Blue Hippos and one Achilles

Some tangs are harder to keep than others. Some are more likely to develope ick than others. From my experience, Sailfin tangs are pretty hardy and your Clown tangs are pretty good also. I would stay away from powders (powder blues, powder Browns), Hippos. These are ick magnets. They are very delicate and stress easily. Thus the ick.
I think kole tangs might be pretty good also.

An other suggestion is if you want easier maintenace. Go Fish only. A reef will require constant checking ph's, cal, alk, and so on. If you go "Fish only" You could get a nice assortment of good looking fish. Just be sure to check their aggressiveness.
As far as color in the tank, They are coming up with some realistic fake corals, that look awsome. Just an ideal.
You could do butterflies, angels, gobbies, tangs. There is alot of fish choices that way.
One of the other pluses is you would need the major lights unless you put an anemone in there.

If you decide to go with a fish only, deff get the Emperor angel, they are very nice show fish. A blue hippo tang is not nearly as hard as an Achilles. And I hope you decide to go w/ the black and white percula clowns! They are awesome!

So what are the recomended fish?
Im getting an Emporer Angel eventually and a Yellow Tang for sure, but what are some good fish to keep or even groups of fish you've gotten and had a good experience with.
Now I need to repicture what my aquarium will look like.
Also my my tanks specific gravity is 1.030 which is pretty high right?
How do I lower it?

I love Yellow Coris Wrasse. Spectacular yellow color, plus they don't get too big and are chock-full of personality. Little fella would bury himself in the sand everynight for bedtime and occasionally just for fun. After my previous tank screwed me (I wasn't there when it happened but supposedly water started squirting out of the tank, trickling down the wall and into the outlet which kicked the breaker and shut off power to my tank). This alone isn't much of a tragedy, but the caretaker (owner of the house at the time and the one I left responsible for my aquarium), decided I didn't need to be bothered with it and notified me the next day..........
Anyways, I've got the Yellow Coris on my wishlist with this site and one will definately make a home in my new tank.
