125 lighting question

A2, you might want to edit your post and modify your e-mail address. Something like donsink at charter dot net. There are programs that search message boards for e-mail address and then send you SPAM. I put my e-mail address on here a couple of weeks ago, I even put in NOSPAM in my address and a couple of days later got over 20 SPAM messages. They were all obviously from the same place since I normally don't get SPAM messages. Just trying to help a brother out.

Oh yeah 808 you should be able to keep zoos and mushrooms with that lighting. I have PCs on my 125 and my zoos and shrooms are dong fine. Plus I happen to like them so that helps.

I just went through this whole lighting thing in my 90 gallon tank---Bought a Coralite Lunar Aqualite w/ lunars. It has 2 65w 10000k andn 2 65w blue atinic and 3 3/4 w lunars. Found out that I could only keep low light corals in the tank---so here goes what I found I could keep as far as corals go---and anyone please feel free to add input if there are other things I can keep b/c it would be greatly appreciated. No anenomes or polyps. These are the things I can keep:
Tub Coral--Fox Coral--Tube coral---Bullseye shroom---Lavender shroom--Elephant ear shroom--purple shroom--Carnation Tree Coral---Xmas Tree Coral---Hower Tree coral ---Red Finger Gorgonia---orange Tree Gorgonia---Yellow Finger Gorgonia--Red sea fan and of coarse feather dusters.
With my lighting it gives me just over 3w per gallon and I was told I need 4-6w to keep moderate lighting corals. Is this correct? Or can I get away w/ anything else.
Hope this helps and I hope someone can help me :)
Thanks

I say with only 2.8 watts per gallon you can keep anything that sais low light in the description. No medium light corals for that.

OK,
I bought another light exactly as the 1st one except it's a dual. It's 2x96watts w/lunar.
So that means currently I have 2.304 watts per gallon.
With one dual and one single - 96watts x 3 tubes = 288/125g tank = 2.304 watts...
Is that the correct formula?
I'm getting another dual light in a few weeks, by July hopefully.
With that it will then be 480w/125g = 3.84wpg Is that an acceptable amount of watts for low and moderate lighting corals?
Thanks

Right now you have 2.3 watts per gallon total. With the other you will have 3. something per gallon. Its low light corals. For such a big tank you might want to retro the lights. so you can fit more in the same amount of space. When you get to around 5 to 6 watts per gallon you can keep everything except for high lighting corals or inverts.
