ok guys I have only had saltwater fish for 3 months now and I think i am going to do another up grade. What is better for a fish only dispaly? The 125 is only 500 with stand lid and lights. the 150 is 568 with stand only, does any one know anyplace online that sells aquariums in michigan or how much a lid would be? And is there a big difference between the two for fish? thanks

I know you didnt ask about bigger... but I would really try to get a 180 if possible. They provide much more room for fish to roam.
For you original question.... Just go with the 125 over the 150. Assuming the 150 is just a taller 125, the height doesn't really do much for the fish. Fish mainly care about surface area. Just save the extra money and buy a better skimmer or UV.

Go big! If you don't feel that your skills as a carpenter are that great, you can always commission a cabinet maker for a custom stand and top.
