125g or 180g??

Alright, i got a brazilian dragon, and want to get a bigger tank for him, (hes in a 75g) I want maybe 1 fish or 2 in with him. One of them i want to be a pinktail. My first question is, would a pinktail fit in a 6 foot 125g? and if so would another good, but not as big, sized fish be able to be kept in it?
If the trigger would not fit in a 125g then i would do a 180g, if i did this could i do a minatus grouper w/ the trigger? or would he be too big? i dont know how active they are.
Thanks for your responses, please dont say " bigger is better", if the trigger will fit in the 125g, it would be good, i am on a budget and the less i spend on the tank the more i can on filtration :happyfish

I dont see why the trigger wouldnt fit in a 125.. Some people will say def get the 180 and they wont fit in the 125. But i think ur fine with the eel the trigger and 1 or 2 smaller fish..good luck

IME with this trigger, they are slow growers and fast swimmers, but for the long haul go the 180, No matter how big of a tank I get, I always want bigger.....LoL
What do you think about a male & Female Bird Wrasse? They are fast swimmers but are out from morning until night.

believe me i kno about wanting a bigger tank, i went from 10g, to 2 - 29g, to a 26 bow, now a 75g and this would be my 6th and final tank. I dont know how much of a price difference there is maybe you do? i think the 180g, would cost be an extra 250 or so. The 125g would fit better and be less to maintain and set up. its a tough one

If money is not a factor I would go with the 180... I just went through that same decision. I went with the 180... Even though it has to sit in the drive way for a month till my filtering system gets here. I figured I'd be kicking myself down the road If I didn't get the bigger tank. I want a Queen trigger. It will be her tank.

youll always look back and say " i wish i got the 180" and then in a few months or a year youll say " i should have got a 210" etc. etc. i think any true hobbysit will always say " i shoulda" when it comes to tank size so my vote is just get the 180!! you wont regret it

i know a place where i can get half off any sized new AGA, but im building a bar for my bonus room and will have to look at my space and plans to make sure a 180g, would fit. you all are really making me want a 180g. How many medium sized fish including my eel and trigger could i keep? im thinking like 2 others, man this is a tough decision, i will have to look at prices this weekend

it will be up stairs in a 25 yr old house, will this support the weight of a 180g,? my 75g has a lot less lb.-sq.ft. ratio then the 180g will
and what are the deminsions of the 210 that would make it any better than a 180g,??

so about $550 for the tank because i know they charge about $450 or more on the stands. I think the 180g at my LFS is $339. i guess thats a good deal.

Just make sure it's a reef ready tank with the overflows.
My stand was 230. Now the filtering system was over 1000.
I just put water in it last night. 100 bucks for salt.

Wow, you might want ask a structural engineer for that. There are a lot of factors that could play into that question. Like how is the tank sitting... Across the joist? or with the joist?... ******** wall? or exterior wall? code?
