It is a 125 all glass reef ready with dual corner overflows(not working). I have roughly 300+- lbs. of live rock, about 80-100 lbs. of live sand. I currently have 3 powerheads in the tank pushing water and the 29 gallon sump/refugium w/skimmer(coralife), bought off of the famous auction site. It is rated for 150 gallons.
The sump has 15 lbs. of live rock rubble. The refugium has 5 lbs. of rubble on top of 10 lbs. of live sand and about a gallon jug worth of chaeto thats filled with pods, pods and more pods, small brittle stars, hermits, and snails. The return side has the skimmer, 5 lbs. of lr rubble and the return pump. My lighting for the refugium is reverse cycle from MT and is just a cheapo 10w or so light.
The lighting in the MT is 2- 48" PC's at 260w each. They overlap in the center of the tank about a foot and a half. On at 07:30 and off at 18:00 or so (on timers).
Although the system was started in Feb. 2006, some of the lr and ls came out of my 1 year old 55 gallon.
I use Oceanic salt and change 12 gallons every week or so. I dose NOTHING. My S.G. is at 1.025-26 and all I do is add 1 gallon of R/O water to the sump each day. I feed nori sheets (2x3") twice a day (2 clips) and I feed the fish formula 1 and 2 small amounts 2 times a day. I also feed:
frozen cyclo-peeze
spectrum pellets
frozen prime reef
freeze dried krill
frozen squid and silversides.
I soak all foods (sometimes the flakes too) in zoe and garlic extract (just a couple drops each).
I would post a fish list but would get flamed and or banned.
What works for me may not work for others.
